Hi there, I'm Joel!

We are living through another challenging time, and we all need to talk to someone. So whether it's me, another therapist, a trusted family member, or a friend, I am thankful you want to talk and take care of yourself.

My focus

Some of the issues people come to me for include: depression/anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, relationship issues, life transitions, and stress management.

My approach

My work comes from a trauma-informed and strengths-based lens and utilizes a combination of narrative, interpersonal, CBT, DBT, and ACT approaches to therapy.

My communication style

I am an easy-going and genuinely curious therapist. I lean on a listening and guidance approach; I want you to feel comfortable and safe. As I get to know my clients, I will help them to take steps towards change.

My journey to mental healthcare

When I was a young adult, I witnessed many of my peers struggle with their mental health. I supported them only as a friend, but it sparked a curiosity about helping others as a therapist.

My goals for you

My goal is to create a non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, gain awareness of any self-limiting patterns, learn helpful skills, and hopefully laugh some.

In our first session, I have a simple goal of getting to know your strengths, hearing your insights, and learning about your challenges. You are the expert on you, and I want to collaborate with you and make you feel comfortable, safe, and heard.
