I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California with over 25 years of professional work experience in helping both adolescents and adults with stress, anxiety, childhood trauma, abuse, and depression. I also have experience working with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder,(PTSD). I believe we all have the tools needed to heal within us and my role is to guide to and teach you to use your tools in a healthy fashion.
My approach
I am client-centered and I believe that you are the expert on your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to start therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started. I am eclectic in my use of Cognitive behavioral, Object relations, and somatic approaches
My focus
As I said earlier I have experience in helping both adolescents and adults with stress, anxiety, childhood trauma, abuse, and depression. I also have experience working with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder,(PTSD). I worked with Military members and their families educating them on Anxiety and Depression.
My communication style
I believe we all have the tools needed to heal within us and my role is to guide, support and teach you to use your tools in a healthy fashion. I am honored when a person allows me to accompany them on their healing journey therefore it is imperative that a safe space and safe relationship is built and kept.
My goals for you
My approach is one of mutual goal-setting and planning. I believe that as I learn and build a therapeutic relationship with each person the path and goals will be mutually constructed as healing progresses.
My first session with you
During our first session, besides getting to know you, I will be taking a complete psycho-social history of you and your family. Appropriate paperwork such as confidentiality, my role and your role, and legal documents and what you can and can not expect from Therapy.
