My name is Wendy Block and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Long Beach, CA, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults specializing in anxiety, depression, relationship issues and life transitions. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based practices, Compassionate Inquiry and Internal Family Systems to help my clients make progress and start feeling better.
My approach
I have been a therapist for over 25 years and have developed a practical, effective approach to treatment using both shorter and longer term models of therapy which include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Compassionate Inquiry and Mindfulness-Based approaches. I also use Internal Family Systems therapy and trauma treatment modalities based on the needs of each client.

I work with adults seeking treatment for depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues and grief issues.
My communication style
You will find that I am warm, down-to-earth, and compassionate. I strive to listen deeply to my clients' needs and provide a safe, respectful environment for therapy. The most rewarding part of my work is to see people change, move on and reach their full potential.
My first session with you
During the first session, we will spend the time learning about your goals for treatment and what has brought you to therapy now. The focus of the first session is to get to know you better through your sharing of current and relevant history in order to formulate an effective treatment plan that is right for you and addresses your needs.
