I am a Marine Corps Veteran and spouse who works as a counselor supporting individuals navigating mental health challenges.

My focus

I've worked primarily with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) in my time as a counselor. But am comfortable with many different clients. My ideal client is anyone who wants to better themself and is open to the process.

My approach

I prefer to use evidence-based interventions, including CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused. I also use Motivational Interviewing as well as mindfulness.

My communication style

I am usually a little direct when I communicate. I use active listening and ask questions ensuring that I understand what the client is saying.

My goals for you

I think this is entirely client-driven. I want whatever the client is working towards. But as a general goal, I want to help clients live their best lives and make sure any mental health symptoms are not getting in the way of that.

Our first session

The first session is for us to get to know each other and start treatment planning and setting goals. It's low pressure and the beginning of rapport building.
