My clients are adults who want to improve their mood and/or decrease their anxiety.

My focus

I typically work with adults who want to feel better about themselves and their lives. Talking about life's ups and downs in a confidential environment contributes to feeling better. Thinking in cognitive behavioral terms offers tools to work through negative thoughts and feelings. I use EMDR when working through past and present traumas.

My approach

My approach to therapy is person-centered, based on a foundation of respect, unconditional positive regard, trust, and understanding of the client’s goals. I explore the client’s thoughts, feelings, circumstances, and behaviors that contribute to the problem, and we work together utilizing cognitive behavioral tools and EMDR to alleviate symptoms.

My communication style

My communication style is relaxed, respectful, and non-judgmental. I want my clients to feel comfortable sharing their lives, thoughts, feelings, past, present, and hopes for the future.

My journey to mental healthcare

The only careers that I ever considered were in the helping professions. This career offers me the opportunity to help people live happy, content, and productive lives from the inside out.

My goals for you

I work collaboratively with clients to set the goals for therapy. Some goals are short-term and others are long-term. We work together on choosing what path to reach the goals based on the client's needs and formalized treatment plan.

Our first session

The first session is about building trust and comfort, reviewing all intake paperwork, including limits of confidentiality, and session expectations. Reviewing your goals for therapy, as well as answering any questions, will also be addressed, along with historical information.
