I focus on creating a space where clients feel safe, accepted, and heard while providing empathy and warmth within a therapeutic setting. Whether you feel like drawing, cursing, or engaging me in a standup act to recap your day, I welcome your expression of your authentic self.
My approach
My approach is very conversational and I rarely, if ever, utilize worksheets. I use techniques with clients to process thoughts and feelings, identify unhelpful thought patterns, and build skills & techniques to better navigate life stressors. As a trauma-based therapist, I utilize a wide variety of interventions based on your needs, drawing from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based approaches, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Focused techniques.
My focus
I see a wide variety of clients with different mental health needs including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-based symptoms, and recent life stressors/changes. I work with individuals, couples, and minors aged 13-17. My specialties include adolescent issues, career counseling, coping skills, emotional disturbance, life transitions, relationship issues, self-esteem, stress management, and women's issues.
My communication style
I engage in open, authentic conversations where you can express yourself freely. My style is interactive and collaborative - I'm here to listen without judgment, offer empathy and warmth, and work with you to process thoughts and feelings in a way that feels natural to you.
My journey to mental healthcare
I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from California State University, Los Angeles, where I studied from August 2015 to May 2017. This rigorous program prepared me with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively support individuals facing diverse mental health challenges.
