My communication style

I'm down-to-earth, practical, and non-judgmental. I'm open-minded about people with diverse lifestyles and backgrounds. I believe being genuine, warm, and having a sense of humor is important; I'm not overly rigid or formal in my therapeutic approach.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was raised in a high-conflict household, and as a result, I've had my own personal challenges with abuse and struggling during my teen years & young adulthood. I've also had my own challenges with chronic illness & disability. These experiences have led me to want to provide therapy where people feel comfortable and accepted.

My goals for you

I can provide both flexibility and accountability with your treatment goals at whatever level you are comfortable with. I will remain supportive, warm, and kind during the therapeutic process, but can be honest and direct when needed.

Our first session

I will do my best to make you feel comfortable while finding out more about your background, current challenges, and goals for therapy. I will tell you a bit about myself and see if you have any questions about the therapeutic process. I will seek to have you leave the session feeling like you have new tools to help yourself with your goals.
