It's all about change, isn't it? Something in your life has gone off, and it's confusing, difficult, and painful. Or maybe it's never been quite right, and now you're ready to address it. But what to do? And how? And to what end? Therapy offers ways to find your answers and put them into practice.
My focus
I see an awful lot of folks who are struggling with crazy stress and high anxiety these days. This is particularly so for people going through various life transitions: launching into adulthood, establishing a family, empty-nesting, retirement, aging, dealing with death, and dying. How do I find my way, myself, in a changing world?
My approach
We are meaning-seeking, meaning-creating creatures. Meaning guides our choices as we navigate social and physical worlds that can be capricious, hostile, terrifying, and sometimes pretty wonderful, too. To make better choices, I find that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy offers a good approach to depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues.
