Hi there, I'm Aileen Herlinda!

I'm a formally trained neuropsychologist with experience in inpatient, outpatient, & forensic settings. In addition to providing diagnostic evaluations and psychotherapy, I am also a researcher and professor. My research and teaching keep me current with best practices in treatment.

My focus

I primarily work with depression, postpartum issues, anxiety, adjustment disorders, parenting practices, communication and interpersonal issues, and neurodivergent populations.

My approach

I provide evidence-based psychotherapy incorporating visuals and interventions to change brain function—like increasing attention, improving cognitive flexibility, or managing cortisol levels. I believe in safe, ethical practices grounded in what we know about how the brain is affected by various conditions.

My communication style

I listen first. My practice follows Self Determination Theory's three tenets: competence, autonomy, and relatedness. This fosters a safe, non-judgmental, motivating environment where you feel heard, challenged, and empowered.

My forensic work and research have deepened my understanding of trauma and brain function. Staying involved in academia ensures I bring the most current, effective approaches to my clients.
