Hello, my name is Crystal Harris and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California, (license # 101995). I received my Master's in Social Work from Denver University and have spent most of my career in the medical field working with the chronically ill, dying, and grieving.
My approach
I use a combination of modalities to help others evaluate and manage their thoughts and emotions, overcome behavioral issues, and work through major life transitions. My work provides me the opportunity to utilize mindfulness for stress reduction, cognitive behavioral therapy, supportive psychotherapy, life review, and grief and trauma support. My assessment includes physical, emotional, and existential health.
My focus
I typically work with adolescents and adults.
My communication style
I meet clients where they are at any given time. I am an objective listener who is curious about how someone manages their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always done some sort of social work since the start of my career. I have worked with many non-profits, including developmental disabilities, multicultural education, community organizing, and, for 10 years, Hospice. In all settings, I have valued the opportunity to work with individuals directly and learn about who they are.
My goals for you
I consistently check in with clients regarding their goals.
My first session with you
Our first session is an intake session. I ask questions regarding your physical, emotional, and existential health and history. I learn about your presenting problem.
