My name is Servando Trevino and I am a licensed LMFT. I specialize in relapse prevention, anger management, self-worth, individual, and couples' issues. I use Cognitive Restructuring Behavior modification and an EFT approach. I am direct and don't sugarcoat things but am respectful. My philosophy is that if you are coming to therapy, you want the truth and you want to do something different. Sugarcoating and minimizing is not a solution but a coping system of denial.
My approach
I use CBT- Cognitive restructuring and Behavior modification. CBT helps you explore the role of your core beliefs and behaviors in your interaction with self and others. I also use EFT for couples. Emotionally Focused Therapy focuses on helping couples identify the emotional context of communication rather than the verbal/nonverbal content.

My communication style
I take an objective approach, meaning I don't take sides. I am direct but respectful. If you don't want to be honest with yourself then I am not the person for you. However, if you are sick and tired of being sick and tired and are ready to commit to change, and can be honest with yourself. Then I am your guy.
My journey to mental healthcare
Self-disclosure - I decided to become a counselor while I was in treatment for alcoholism about 30 years ago. I learned so much about myself when I allowed myself to be taught and was willing to be open and honest with myself that it instantly changed my life, and I wanted others to have the same gift that I was given.
My goals for you
I meet clients where they are at. Sometimes clients think they are ready to make changes but when given assignments they discover they are not ready to so the goals may change. Sometimes we'll take a step forward and two steps back and that's ok as long as you are willing to continue to work.
My first session with you
In the first session, we'll discuss the guidelines, expectations, late fees, cancellation policies, counseling guidelines, and limits of confidentiality. etc. Mostly get to know each other.
