Hello, my name is Ritika Kaur. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California (License #101199) providing psychotherapy services in English and Punjabi. I utilize evidence-based approaches to help individuals navigate life's challenges and find hope, healing, and well-being.

As a client-centered clinician, my approach is to meet you where you are mentally and emotionally. I strive to build a strong therapeutic alliance by providing an empathetic and non-judgmental environment. I believe in empowering you to tap into your own resilience and inner strength.
My focus
I specialize in working with individuals experiencing a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, substance use, relationship problems, life transitions, low self-esteem, and more. I am also experienced in addressing behavioral issues, parenting challenges, and providing support during pregnancy.

My communication style is warm, collaborative, and focused on your unique needs and goals. I aim to create a safe space where you feel heard, validated, and supported. Together, we will work to develop effective coping skills and find solutions tailored to your situation.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was drawn to the mental health field by a deep desire to help others overcome adversity and lead fulfilling lives. After earning my Master's in Counseling Psychology from National University in 2011, I gained diverse experience in community mental health, substance abuse treatment, and providing evidence-based therapies before becoming licensed in California in 2017.

My goal is to help you gain greater self-awareness, build healthier relationships, and develop the tools to manage life's challenges with confidence and resilience. I am dedicated to supporting you on your journey of personal growth and empowering you to create positive, lasting changes.
My first session with you
During our first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and collaborate to establish your personal goals. I will gather relevant background information and answer any questions you may have. Most importantly, we will begin building the trust and rapport essential for a productive therapeutic relationship.
