My name is Eric Saprid and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am also a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional. I believe in treating everyone with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, solution-focus, motivational interviewing, and spirituality.
My approach
Common theoretical approaches that I integrate into my practice are Cognitive Theory, Humanistic approach, and Erikson's Stages of Development. I have vast experience using cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing in my practice.
My focus
I have experience working with a diverse population, ranging from severely emotionally disturbed children, elderly adults, persons struggling with substance abuse, the homeless, psychotic persons, and persons with mood disorders. In the past year, I have worked with clientele suffering from depression, anxiety, substance use, and general psychosocial stressors.
My communication style
I create a safe place for clients to feel comfortable to voice their concerns. Clients should expect to feel a warm welcome. Clients will learn that working with me is like a collaborative partnership, where I often ask for your feedback on what is working or not working for you.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have a caring nature, which makes the therapist profession natural for me. In my early career, most of my work was volunteerism in the community or church. I enjoyed going to the homeless shelters to serve food to the homeless. I had a great time serving as a mentor to youth in church camps for several years. These experiences have led me to become a Social Worker and then a Therapist. I have a passion for counseling and what drives me to keep doing this is seeing people's mental health improve and seeing people have a better quality of life.
My goals for you
I meet you where you are at. I will formulate our dialog and treatment plan to meet your needs and goals.
My first session with you
While a first session is typically gathering psychosocial history, I make a conscious effort to get to know you, probe what you want to get out of therapy, explore short/long-term goals, and assess your desire for change.
