My name is Caroline Grim. I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) from Southern California. I have over 10 years of experience in providing services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, trauma, and other challenges.
My approach
I use an integrative style that is collaborative and incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including trauma-focused CBT interventions, solution-focused approaches, and strength-based models. I provide a safe, non-judgmental place for you to be you.
My focus
My focus for the past 10 years has been working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, providing individual, couples, and family therapy. I found each situation to be unique to the individual, especially how depression, anxiety, grief, and other challenges might affect the individual; therefore, treatment is tailored to the individual's needs. For the last three years, my primary platform has been telehealth, working with individuals with depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma.
My communication style
My communication style is non-judgmental, respectful, and professional. I encourage my clients to be open about their needs in sessions so they feel comfortable and heard.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey of becoming a therapist comes from a place of wanting to help people with life challenges and knowing that once in a while, we all need somewhere to feel safe and heard to address those intense emotions that keep us from doing what is important to us. This desire was thought of in my early years and followed me later in life. My continued passion for helping others comes from the reward of seeing my clients get to the point of managing their day-to-day lives.
My goals for you
My goal for you is simply to assist you in achieving your therapeutic goals you set in our initial intake. My hope is we can work together and monitor progress to meet those goals.
My first session with you
You can expect in our first session that we will be building rapport and engagement as I find out about your needs, your story, and your goals. You know you best and can provide the best snapshot of your life. I want you to feel comfortable as we build our therapeutic relationship and connection.
