Hi there, I'm Danielle!
I am a Kānaka Maoli who integrates trauma-informed principles and Indigenous Knowledge Systems. They implement a braided care approach (somatic, spiritual, emotional) with BIPOC communities recovering from historical, intergenerational, and/or racial traumatic stress.
My focus
I have worked in community mental health supporting BIPOC and Queer folx through anxiety, identity, trauma, and life transitions. Since 2019, I've served college and medical students at a Hispanic-Serving Institution, supporting neurodiverse and students living with a disability with an intersectional, culturally grounded lens.
My approach
I identify as a decolonizing practitioner. My practice is culturally responsive, trauma-informed care that centers on client narratives, cultural identities, and personal values. I use an intersectional framework that holds space for the exploration of historical and contemporary impacts of imperialism and colonization.
