I am a licensed MFT who has been in practice for over 16 years, helping adults and adolescents achieve their personal goals, manage emotions and stressors, and develop strategies for positive self-growth and a more satisfying life. With a warm, positive, and compassionate approach, I have extensive experience treating a wide variety of issues and psychological disorders, from the mildest to the most severe.
My approach
My approach allows clients to develop specific skills for thinking and acting in constructive ways. I believe the process of change through therapy should involve self-understanding and insight into the past, but beyond that, it should also focus on helping clients learn skills for present-time challenges. As a proponent of therapists actively collaborating with clients, I work to help them find ways to better manage life.
My focus
I work with adults and adolescents, specializing in anxiety and depressive disorders, stress management, crisis counseling, grief counseling, and relationships. I am willing to see individuals and minors aged 13-17.
My communication style
My communication style is warm, positive, and compassionate. I actively collaborate with clients to help them develop skills and strategies for managing life's challenges.
My journey to mental healthcare
I earned my Masters of Arts (MA) in Counseling Psychology from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, CA, from September 1998 to September 2000. This education provided the foundation for my journey into mental healthcare, driven by a desire to help others achieve personal growth and fulfillment.
My goals for you
My goal is to help you gain self-understanding, develop effective coping skills, and find positive strategies for personal growth that lead to a more satisfying life. Through our work together, I aim to empower you to better manage your emotions, navigate life's challenges, and reach your full potential.
My first session with you
In our first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and begin to explore your personal history, current challenges, and goals for treatment. This will lay the groundwork for developing a collaborative therapeutic relationship focused on helping you gain insight, build skills, and work towards positive change in your life.
