My communication style

Active listening and empathy are hugely important to me and will be employed throughout our work together. At the heart of what I do is a belief that we all need to be seen, heard, and understood. The world is a scary place for many. I am affected by what's going on around me and will not hide my humanity. We are truly in this together.

My journey to mental healthcare

I became a therapist out of a deep desire to offer support and guidance to those in need. I had a positive therapy experience when I was younger. As an elder now, I have learned to meet people where they are and find ways to reach their passion and purpose. It brings me great joy to join folks in this journey.

My goals for you

Setting goals will be an ongoing process as we move through your treatment. We will work towards creating personal, manageable, realistic, achievable goals together. Goals may shift in the course of therapy, so we will evaluate them ongoingly. I believe strongly in a strengths-based approach, so we look at and consider your innate abilities.

Our first session

In the first session, in a relaxed, friendly, and perhaps even fun manner, we will get to know each other and begin to determine how best to work together. We will discuss what troubles you and what you are looking for. I will answer your questions, and we will plan for the next session together.
