My communication style

My communication style includes active listening, supportive feedback, and directness when needed. I use humor and welcome laughter and joy into sessions while honoring difficult conversations. I encourage clients to share what works best for them, and I strive to honor their communication styles.

My journey to mental healthcare

Field work was a gift, and I am grateful for my career and experiences. I now assist clients individually through private practice, incorporating my field experience. Elder care was my specialty prior to trauma therapy, and I have gratitude for the clients and patients who have been part of my journey.

My goals for you

From the initial intake and on, clients can expect to begin the discussion about treatment goals specific to either talk or EMDR therapy. Clients are encouraged to be a part of the treatment planning process, and are encouraged to be active participants in updating their plan.

Our first session

During the first session, we will begin to establish a rapport through introductions, review of all documentation for informed consent, and establish means of communication. We will begin treatment planning and establish a schedule that best meets your ability to achieve goals successfully. You will also learn a little bit about EMDR, as desired.
