All of us need mental health support in varying ways in order to better ourselves and better our lives. It can range from a word of encouragement to needing special mental health services. Wherever you are on your journey, I applaud you for taking the courage to reach out for mental health services.
My approach
Therapy is a collaborative effort, and it's an opportunity for the therapist and client to work together to achieve the client's realistic goals. As a therapist, I see myself as a mirror through which clients see themselves clearly so that they can make positive changes. I am flexible in applying different therapies and techniques to meet clients' unique needs. However, I often use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) as an underlying philosophy and principle of change. "Change your thoughts, and you can change your world," is a famous quote that summarizes CBT philosophy.
My focus
I am willing to see individuals and I have provided mental health services to people with severe and persistent mental health needs, such as severe depression, anxiety, panic attacks, schizophrenia, schizoaffective, and substance addictions.
My communication style
I communicate in a direct yet empathetic manner, acting as a mirror to reflect your thoughts and feelings. Through collaborative dialogue, we'll work to gain clarity and insight into your unique challenges and goals. My flexible approach adapts to your needs while drawing upon proven techniques like CBT to facilitate meaningful change.
My journey to mental healthcare
For more than 15 years, I feel blessed and humbled that they allowed me to walk with them when they might feel most vulnerable in their lives.
My goals for you
Again, I commend you for your courage in reaching out for help. Whether you choose me as your therapist or not, I wish you the best as you continue your journey to become the best version of yourself.
My first session with you
During the first session, you will be able to express your needs and goals for therapy. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about the therapy process and how it works. I will have a chance to get to know a little about you, your strengths, and your aspirations. We will discuss a plan for how to meet your therapy goals.
