Have you ever felt like your life is a puzzle scattered all over a table and you are struggling to put the pieces together? I have had the opportunity to guide a wide variety of individuals with putting the puzzle pieces together. My name is Julia, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have worked in the mental health field for approximately eight years and have experience in a clinical setting and case management.
My approach
As a therapist I strive to build a relationship with the individual to develop an environment of safety, to be able to process the reasons that brought them to therapy. I utilize an integrative and goal-oriented approach to assist the individual with reaching a satisfying life, through focusing on the persons strengths, to help assist them through life’s challenges. If the individual has a faith they would like to use as part of their treatment goals, we will explore how their faith can be used as part of their interventions. Not everyone has faith, and I desire to make each person feel safe and comfortable during sessions.
My focus
I have experience working with individuals and families, including children (ages 5-7), preteens (ages 8-12), and minors (ages 13-17). My specialties encompass anger management, anxiety, coping skills, depression, life coaching, parenting, self-esteem, spirituality, stress, child abuse or neglect, and marital/pre-marital issues.
My communication style
I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where an individual can openly explore their thoughts and feelings. My communication style is warm, collaborative, and focused on the individuals’ unique needs. I listen attentively and ask questions to understand the person’s perspective fully. Together, I will work with the person towards their goals at a pace that feels right for them.
My journey to mental healthcare
I obtained my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Loma Linda University, completing the program between June 2015 and June 2016 in Loma Linda, California.
My goals for you
Together, I will work with the person towards their goals at a pace that feels right for them to guide them towards a satisfying life.
My first session with you
During the first session an assessment will be conducted to gather information to help assist develop goals to work on. These goals will be developed with the myself and the individual to ensure the person is working on areas they feel are important to them.
