Hi there, I'm Joe!

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with many years of experience, I am dedicated to providing the highest level of professional and compassionate care to individuals facing their most difficult life challenges. I tailor my approach to therapy based on the unique needs of each person I have the privilege to help.

My approach

My therapeutic approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Humanistic Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy. I work with clients from a strength-based focus while providing a safe, non-judgmental environment to learn and grow.

My focus

I specialize in helping individuals with anxiety, depression, grief, domestic violence, divorce, life transitions, self-esteem, stress, and relationship issues. My mission is to help you gain a healthy balance so you may enjoy positive relationships, fulfill your life's purpose, and achieve your highest potential.

My communication style

I believe in open, honest communication and creating a supportive therapeutic relationship. It takes courage to seek help and pursue a more fulfilling and happier life. If you are ready to take the first steps toward change, I am here to support and empower you with compassion and without judgment.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey in mental healthcare began with providing clinical services at the El Monte Police Department Community Relations Office working with court-ordered clients experiencing life issues while involved with the justice system. I also provided clinical services at multiple community counseling agencies serving survivors of domestic violence and child abuse. These experiences instilled in me a passion for helping others navigate life's challenges.

My goals for you

My goal is to empower you with the insights, coping strategies, and tools to improve your wellbeing, build healthy relationships, gain self-awareness, and make positive changes to lead a more balanced and fulfilling life, both during our time working together and for the long-term.

My first session with you

In our first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and begin to develop a trusting and collaborative relationship. I will learn about your unique background, challenges, goals, and expectations. Together, we will start to formulate a personalized treatment plan to put you on the path toward healing and growth.
