My approach
I prefer a person-centered, supportive environment. I'm here to assist you on your journey towards understanding your emotions, restructuring thoughts, and self-compassion. I want to help you heal challenging past experiences while creating room for growth and change in your life.
My focus
I love working with a variety of individuals who are looking to improve their coping skills, are open to being introspective & honest with themselves & take responsibility for their lives.
My communication style
I'm here to listen, to be your sounding board & to help guide you towards increasing self-awareness & discovering better ways & more effective methods of dealing with the ups & downs of life.
My journey to mental healthcare
As a child immigrant, I encountered social workers who welcomed me & my family to a new country, new culture & new life. I was in awe of these people whose job was to ensure we felt welcome & taken care of in our new home. I was immediately attracted to a profession whose focus was to make the world a better place. I have worked with non-profit community agencies & over time transitioned to more clinical work & found myself drawn to working with individuals. I feel humbled & honored to have clients who share their life stories with me & feel tremendous responsibility to help them heal their wounds. I believe we all deserve to feel happy & free from suffering.
My goals for you
Goal setting is a team effort. You have to commit to trying something new. For you to succeed, you have to believe in the possibility of improvement. My role is to be your cheerleader, your coach & your support.
My first session with you
The 1st session is like any 1st experience. We get to know each other & it is an opportunity for you to set goals & decide on the direction our work will take us.
