My name is Sheena Bergeron, LMFT. I specialize in trauma-focused therapy with children and adolescents using different modalities including TFCBT, EMDR, and DBT.
My approach
I come from an attachment-focused approach when working with youth, as well as being client-centered.
My focus
I have primarily worked with youth with complex trauma leading to diagnoses such as PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Some common symptoms addressed have been suicidal ideation, self-harm, defiance, and high levels of irritability.
My communication style
I meet clients where they are in their therapeutic journey and will work with them to help reach their goals in a nurturing, but firm manner, challenging thoughts when needed. My therapeutic process includes collaboration with my clients in goal setting and th process of reaching those goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have been drawn to working as a therapist and combining the desire to help with working with youth. I have spent most of my career working with children in the CWS system through trauma-focused work. I am driven to continue this path by seeing the changes that happen over time.
My goals for you
Goal setting is a collaborative process. We will work together to plan next steps and the process to get there.
My first session with you
In the initial session, I will work with you on creating treatment goals and plans, as well as working to get to know you as we discuss history and current issues.
