My name is Brianne Adams and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Choosing the right therapist for you is an important decision and I'd like to share with you my approach to therapy and areas of focus to help you feel confident in the choice you make. My passion is helping people heal and grow through experiences and challenges they may face in their life. My approach starts with providing a warm, welcoming environment to ensure my clients feel comfortable and offering a space for you to explore your challenges, learn more about yourself, and grow and heal through these difficult times.
My approach
I adapt my approach to meet the unique needs of each of my clients. My most commonly used therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and a Strength-Based approach.
My focus
I have found that my approach is a good fit for adolescents and adults wanting to navigate and manage relationship challenges, occupational stress, symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, low self-esteem, stress management issues, and anger management.
My communication style
My communication style is warm, friendly, and approachable. It is very important to me that my clients feel comfortable and that I provide an environment that welcomes healing and growth.
My journey to mental healthcare
After seeing the difference a therapist made in the life of a family member, I knew helping others achieve their goals and heal through their experiences was my passion. Therapy can often be a life-changing experience for a person, and being a part of the journey to health and healing is such a privilege.
My goals for you
I approach goal setting with my clients by exploring your priorities for therapy and what you are hoping to accomplish in our time together. During our initial session, we will work together to establish your goals and as we continue to build trust and a connection, we can adapt the goals to best meet your needs.
My first session with you
During our first session together, I understand if you're feeling nervous or anxious. This is completely normal and common. I will focus on building a connection with you and establishing a strong foundation for our sessions moving forward. I will begin by exploring with you what brought you to therapy, discussing current symptoms you've been experiencing, and past experiences that impact your life. I will provide an environment that allows you to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable during this first session. I will welcome any questions as we continue to build a strong connection throughout our session.
