My name is Jessy Salloum, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 5 years of experience providing clinical services, specializing in adult clients. Using a strengths-based approach, I work collaboratively with clients to identify their clinical goals. I'm passionate about helping others in a way that will best work for them by utilizing a personalized approach to their treatment planning.
My approach
I employ an intersectional approach to treatment, exploring everyone's biological, psychological, social, and spiritual needs. I assist clients with identifying and reconnecting with their own strengths while developing new skills to progress towards identified goals. I most commonly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy based approaches, stress management/relaxation techniques, Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Activation, and Solution-focused therapy. I also have certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain and Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD.
My focus
I have experience working with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, chronic pain, caregiver stress, and adjustment/life changes.
My communication style
I strive to create a safe and open space for all clients. Open communication and honesty is at the forefront of my practice and I encourage my clients to be active participants in their own treatment plan. I work with my clients to set clear goals and identify the interventions that are going to be best suited for them.
My journey to mental healthcare
I received my Master of Social Work from California State University, San Bernardino, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of California, Riverside. I decided to pursue a degree in social work after I interned at a non-profit in Washington D.C. for a semester. I've always been passionate about social causes and found social work to be a natural next step in my pursuit of helping others. In addition to my work with Path, I am a behavioral health social worker at the VA Healthcare System working directly with Primary Care providers as part of an interdisciplinary team.
