Hi! I’m Liset, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#86352). I am based in Upland and work with clients statewide via telehealth. I am a first-generation, Mexican American who provides therapy services in English and Spanish. I provide therapy with a client-centered, collaborative, and culturally competent approach. My therapeutic style is eclectic, drawing from various evidence-based practices to tailor interventions to each client's unique needs. I prioritize building a strong therapeutic alliance and creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and understood.
My approach
I believe each client's needs are individualized, as such my approach to therapy varies depending on the needs of the client. I utilize modalities such as Strength-Based, Person-Centered, Culturally Sensitive, CBT, and solution-focused therapies to collectively build awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I am also expanding my knowledge and will be obtaining training in EMDR. Together we will identify your strengths, create strategies to navigate challenges, and process the experiences most important to you.
My focus
My client focus encompasses individuals from diverse backgrounds and life stages, with a particular emphasis on supporting first-generation Americans, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), and Spanish-speaking clients. I work with adults and adolescents facing a wide range of concerns, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, stress management, self-esteem, and personal growth.
My communication style
I take a genuine and relational approach with my clients. My sessions are structured in a conversational and strength-based method. I hold a belief that we all have internal wisdom, will, and strength. Sometimes we need guidance to access them. It is my goal to provide you with a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate environment that allows us to collaborate and bring positive change to your life.

My first session with you
During a client's first session with me, they can expect a warm and welcoming environment. The initial session is focused on building rapport and establishing a strong therapeutic alliance. I encourage open dialogue and active participation, inviting clients to share their reasons for seeking therapy, their goals, and any concerns they may have.
