Hi, my name is Lorenza Vlahos and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based on the Central Coast. My approach to therapy is to meet clients where they are, help identify their strengths, and introduce skills that they can use and build on toward personal growth. I typically work with kids, teens/adolescents, and their families to help them overcome mental health challenges that may be preventing them from succeeding academically.
My approach
I like to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy to help clients overcome challenges they are currently facing.
My focus
I've found that my style really resonates with teens and young adults dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, and anger management.
My communication style
My communication style is calm, warm, and empathetic. I want my clients to feel comfortable and safe to share thoughts and feelings about anything.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a therapist when I learned changing my habits and my behavior was possible through truly understanding myself. I enjoy helping people discover hope and confidence.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting is working with clients to help define their own desired outcomes. This begins with building a trusting relationship and over time figuring out which interventions work best for you and your growth.
My first session with you
During our first session, I'd like to spend the majority of our time talking about your most recent well-being and me asking questions to better understand the situation. The first session is to get a chance to meet and make a connection that we can build off of. I believe people are the experts about themselves, I'm simply here to offer tools they may help them move forward.
