My name is Tiffany Trent and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in treating trauma, PTSD, eating disorders, and women’s issues.
My approach
I take an eclectic approach to therapy and utilize Internal Family Systems, EMDR, DBT, Narrative, CBT, and Psychodynamic modalities in therapy and individualize therapy to fit the person rather than try to fit the complexities of a human being into a modality.
My focus
I have extensive experience and passion working with and treating teenagers and adults with eating disorders, body dysmorphia, trauma, PTSD, identity issues, self-harming behaviors, and suicidal ideation.
My communication style
I balance kindness and warmth with honesty and challenge clients to grow and become unstuck in their lives. I meet you where you are with acceptance and compassion whether you need comfort from fresh wounds or to be supported in breaking cycles and growth.
My journey to mental healthcare
From a very young age, I always had a deep desire to help people. It was through my own therapy journey as a client as a young adult that I discovered the life-changing impact of quality therapy and a skilled therapist. I wanted to be able to give back in the way that I was helped and have since found profound meaning in supporting people in healing and cultivating a life of their choosing.
My goals for you
I work collaboratively with clients on identifying and creating treatment goals that are effective yet simple enough to integrate into daily living. Collaboration is key: I am an expert on problems and you are the expert of your life.
My first session with you
A first session with me is your opportunity to ask me questions, explain your struggles and pain in as much detail as you are comfortable with, and identify what is going well in your life and what you'd like to work on in therapy. My main goal in an initial session is to provide you with a safe and warm space while building connection.
