My communication style

My tone is soft and warm, and I try to make my clients feel better about themselves. So many people enter therapy feeling broken and wanting to be fixed. I feel it is important not only to help the client learn the skills they need to feel better but also help them recognize their strengths.

My journey to mental healthcare

I've always loved helping people. I volunteered as a suicide intervention counselor and peer counselor, and worked with children doing art therapy. I chose social work because I believe your social environment—family and culture—is essential to understanding psychological challenges.

My goals for you

I prefer to set goals after we've developed rapport and you feel comfortable. You're in control of what areas you want to work on first. This collaborative approach ensures therapy addresses what matters most to you.

Our first session

The first session is an intake where you'll respond to questions so I can understand your biological, psychological, and social situation. In our second session, we'll clarify anything needed and discuss what you want to gain from therapy. We'll likely set goals by the third session.
