Hi there, I'm Tulip!

I extend a warm welcome to each new client and work toward partnering with them as we develop a plan to address their unique challenges. I believe I must first engage with the individual, even if the problem involves family, couples, or other important relationships. I use Motivational Interviewing to put clients at ease.

My focus

I believe my best skills are in parenting, and I enjoy working with young teens and young adults. I also have extensive experience addressing the challenges of aging.

My approach

I remind myself to be open to accepting clients in the ways they see themselves and to be eclectic. I am Cognitive-Behavioral in terms of theory, but I use techniques that effectively address troubling issues in the shortest possible time.

I believe my communication style is friendly without being too familiar, and I encourage clients to express themselves honestly.

My journey to mental healthcare

As far back as I can remember, I was curious about the motivation behind people's behavior. I would ask questions and approach adults seeking answers. When I came to the U.S., I learned there was a place for my curiosity and that examining answers could be helpful. Today, I continue to ask questions and get fascinating answers.

My goals for you

I typically spend the first session learning as much as I can about the client. If appropriate, I address goal setting towards the end of the session. Ideally, primary goals are established by the end of the second session. I adapt a mutually agreed-upon treatment plan to meet the needs of each client.

You can expect a warm greeting, an inquiry about your well-being, and some basic questions about what brought you here. Before the session closes, I will invite you to ask questions and, if appropriate, to provide feedback.
