My name is Janice Braly and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist licensed in California. I have extensive experience working in pediatric mental health and with families with diverse backgrounds both in Nevada and California. My area of focus is telehealth for individuals who are struggling with relationships, the effects of trauma, mild to moderate mental health symptoms, and/or seeking to have Christian-based concepts to be applied in the therapeutic process. My approach includes but is not limited to client-centered and strength-based care using CBT, IFS, DBT, and psycho-education.
My approach
My approach tends to be strength-based and self-compassionate care. I use a blend of cognitive behavioral approaches, internal family systems, psycho-education, and coping skills as well as mindfulness and emotional regulation, and conflict resolution skills.
My focus
I work with individuals that are having difficulty with relationships, and struggling with mild and moderate mental health concerns and symptoms. I have experience working with individuals who have symptoms due to trauma.
My communication style
I offer a safe place in which the client can learn to build trust in themselves and others. This includes identifying strengths, motivators, and a focus on increasing curiosity, compassion, voice, and self-expression of the internal world in order to increase connection to self and others.
My journey to mental healthcare
I enjoy helping people gain or regain their ability to connect in positive and meaningful ways with themselves and others. I enjoy helping people who are not able to express themselves in positive ways to learn to discover how to express themselves.
My goals for you
Goals are strength-based and client-centered that keep symptoms and impairment in mind.
My first session with you
I strive to create an experience in which clients have a space to be heard and have a voice. I will ask many questions in the first session in order to increase understanding of the client's wants and needs.
