My communication style

I like to create a therapeutic environment in which a client can experience a sense of safety and non-judgment. I would hope a client would feel relaxed working with me, yet challenged in the areas where they present a need for growth and support.

My journey to mental healthcare

Before becoming a therapist, I worked for years with low-income families and then with individuals with severe mental illness and homelessness. I am driven to do this work in order to relieve some of the suffering of the world and to help people recover an inner focus that will guide them in life.

My goals for you

Goals are discussed early on in treatment and are modified as needed. Goals are set by clients with support from the therapist.

Our first session

The first session is a time to get to know each other and for me to ask the necessary intake questions. Of course, this is an ongoing experience throughout treatment and is not 'completed' in the first session.
