Hi there, I'm Susan!

As a psychodynamic therapist, I work with individuals, couples, and families with varying issues and goals. Certified in EMDR, I specialize in trauma assessment on the premise of shame within the human condition.

My approach

Through a holistic practice, I use evidence-based treatments such as Attachment style, CBT, Narrative, Solution Focused, and Strengths-based therapy. I have experience in clinical settings such as partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, substance rehabilitation, and schools.

My focus

I see individuals, couples, families, and minors ages 13-17. My specialties include addiction, aging, alcohol use, anger management, anxiety, behavioral issues, borderline personality, career counseling, child abuse or neglect, codependency, coping skills, cultural stress, depression, divorce, domestic violence, drug abuse, dual diagnosis, family conflict, grief, impulsivity, infertility, marital/pre-marital issues, older adults, parenting, self-esteem, stress, substance use, trauma and PTSD, and women's issues.

My communication style

I believe that my role as a therapist is to provide a safe and supportive environment so that a client can heal from emotional pain stemming from trauma, interpersonal conflicts, and existential crises. I collaborate closely with my clients on their therapeutic journey.

My goals for you

I believe that personal growth starts with self-awareness and insight, leading to empowerment for the life the client ultimately wants to live. My goal is to help you gain greater understanding of yourself and make positive changes to live the life you desire.

My first session with you

In our first session, I aim to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you can share your story and what brought you to therapy. We'll discuss your background, current challenges, and goals. This will help me understand your needs so we can collaboratively map out a treatment plan tailored to your unique situation. It's an honor to be invited on this journey with you.
