Hi, I'm Maria. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 17 years of experience working in individual and group psychotherapy sessions in state government programs, addressing anxiety, end-of-life care, grief recovery, depression, and a host of other acute outpatient concerns.
My approach
I like to build rapport and establish working relationships with diverse cultures through demonstrating trust, unconditional positive regard, and showing respect toward each individual’s treatment process. Person-centered therapy holds a special place in my practice.
My focus
Many of my clients strive to set goals that make thoughts of coping with anxiety, depression, grief, etc possible.
My communication style
Active listening mixed with motivational interviewing-inspired questioning is common throughout the first few sessions.
My journey to mental healthcare
"Behaviors" are the result of something! If you want a behavior to change, put in the work. I have always inquired about the things that move us as humans. I'm honored to have followed an educational path that lets me explore the idea that we can all become the change that we want to see reflected in the world every day.
My goals for you
I am here to assist you in creating goals that will help you reach your idea of self-actualization. Utilizing a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Self Motivational Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy, my goal is to help you get the results that create a “better you.”
