David Khalatyan specializes in working with transitional-age youths and adults struggling with a wide variety of issues. He approaches therapy from a unique multicultural perspective. He is passionate about helping you find the best solutions to identified problems and work towards feeling and living better.
My approach
I approach therapy from a combination of solution-focused, CBT, and DBT theoretical approaches. This combination is designed to attempt to identify and improve immediate problem areas in life to provide relief and improve quality of life within a shorter time frame.
My focus
I have worked with Couples, Families, and Individuals aged 18+ in a telehealth setting.
My communication style
My communication style is one that is calm, open, relaxed, laid back and welcoming, nonjudgmental, and goal-oriented. To work with me would be like talking to someone who you are comfortable with, who can provide new insight into situations and identify gaps to address.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been interested in helping people become better versions of themselves and found myself helping others find solutions to their issues ever since childhood. With my interest in psychology, a career as a therapist felt like the natural and correct path to take, and it was. I thrive when my clients thrive, and I love seeing improvement in their lives.
My goals for you
I work with the client on setting a realistic and achievable goal of their choosing. The goal is 100% the client's choice, with my involvement being very minimal.
My first session with you
A quick introduction to me, limits of confidentiality, a screening to find out what the client would like treatment for, and goal setting.
