My communication style

I take a warm tone and often do my best to read a client's comfort level, in terms of the stage of change they are in. Whether that person is highly motivated and ready to dive into the deeper level issues, or prefers a slower, less directive stance.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was interested as I looked to my aunt as a mentor and took advanced placement psychology. Dove straight into college after because I had a thirst for knowledge and love to hear people's life stories!

My goals for you

I will more often than not address a need for therapy goals as a sort of "road map." Discussing the importance of goal setting is something I do with clients early on. I also revisit them during check-ins to determine if they are being met or need to be updated.

Our first session

They should expect to be invited to ask questions to de-mystify the process. The therapist will also offer to share what therapy "looks like" and inquire about whether the participant(s) have been in counseling prior, as well as what that was like for them.
