My approach to goal setting with clients is collaborative and based on what is causing distress for the client or what they want to work on. I may make suggestions depending on what issues are being addressed and check to see if this feels like a fit for the client.

Our first session

During a first session, clients can expect to discuss why they are seeking therapy at this time and take a history of how this has been affecting them recently and in the past. I also use the first session to work on building rapport with the client and determining if working together will be a good fit.
