Yesenia Segovia

Hello, my name is Yesenia Segovia, and I am an LCSW based out of San Diego, California. I work with clients all over the state of California via telehealth therapy. I am currently working with adults with anxiety, stress, depression, self-esteem, and family issues.

My approach

My therapeutic approach uses a blend of evidence-based techniques. I believe there is power in being fully present, and that we are ever-evolving beings. I believe in the capacity for people to grow into their full potential, so unconditional positive regard for my clients is at the heart of my work. In the therapeutic process, I encourage my clients, to do their best, to be open to experience, decrease making judgements, learn to trust feelings, be creative and increase optimism by raising awareness of the small successes. Being willing to step outside of your comfort zone is critical for personal evolution and growth. I understand how fearful that may sound, however, you will not go through that journey alone. I will be there to support you through the challenges.

My focus

Your anxiety may be making you feel tense, irritable and afraid of taking risks. You alternate between feeling angry, scared and numb. You may feel ashamed for what has happened to you and you can't imagine ever feeling happy again. You don't have to let old wounds dictate the rest of your life. You can feel confident, empowered and optimistic about the future again.

My communication style

In every session, you can expect me to bring an open heart and a thoughtful mind. Through my years of experience, I have developed an ability to connect deeply, listen closely, and support your growth and healing. From addressing and undoing anxiety, to changing the communication with yourself and your important people, I have the skills to help you address your challenges.

My journey to mental healthcare

I enjoy helping people; it is my calling. I am genuine in my support. I have worked with children, their families, teens, transitional-aged youth, and adults. I have worked in schools and non-profits community based to help with these populations, from entry-level positions to mental health capacity.

My goals for you

I approach the client's goals by exploring with the client their expectations and the challenges they are facing. I will work with the client to identify individualized care and goals. I will sit with you in the challenges so you do not feel alone. We will work together to achieve your goals.

My first session with you

My first session with you will be exploring and learning about you, so we may focus on what you would like to achieve. Many of my clients have informed me after our first session they have felt good, comfortable, calm, and relieved.
