My name is Sean O'Dwyer and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and relational and intersubjective approaches. I work primarily with adults and specialize in treating anxiety, attachment concerns, life transitions, grief and loss, self-esteem, co-dependency, depression, and relationships.
My approach
My approach is holistic and compassionate while utilizing cognitive, somatic, and mindfulness interventions to help you meet your goals.
My focus
I work primarily with adults and specialize in treating anxiety, attachment concerns, life transitions, grief and loss, self-esteem, co-dependency, depression, and relationships.
My communication style
My communication style is gentle, kind, and empathic. I believe it is important that corrective experiences are created and that there is a space where one can associate being in therapy with talking about things that need to be talked about without the fear of judgment.
My journey to mental healthcare
I've always been fascinated by working with adults and enhancing skills that can contribute to a life well lived. I enjoy the passion and motivations that adults have towards making necessary changes in their life and finding their version of happiness.
My goals for you
Collaborative goal setting is important and checking in on goals regularly during sessions is a wonderful approach to see how well we are meeting the goals we intended for ourselves.
My first session with you
I'm happy to discuss the flow of session, my approach to treatment, and demonstrate how collaborative this process can be. This is an opportunity to really ask fundamental questions about the therapeutic process and my role is to explain how some of those questions can be addressed.
