Hi there, I'm Osvaldo!

I grew up in East Los Angeles and initially gravitated towards helping those from similar environments; however, I've worked with diverse populations including adolescents, veterans, young adults, people struggling with addiction and those on probation. I like using humor in my approach because laughter can be great for the soul.

My focus

I tend to work well with adolescents, young adults, and people on probation. I've worked with people dealing with anger issues, depression, anxiety, and addiction.

My approach

I tend to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused therapy; however, regardless of what therapeutic model I'm educated on, I find the connection I have with my clients supersedes any model.

My communication style

I tend to create a laid-back environment; I never come across as if I'm the 'expert' in your life and I'm here to 'cure' you because I'm neither of those; Session with me feels more like someone you would be talking to at a coffee shop, a park or at a gym.

My journey to mental healthcare

When I was in college, I thought I was going to be an engineer, but I kept gravitating towards psychology courses because I enjoyed learning about human behavior; I also believed in empowering others, especially those who were raised in the inner city.

My goals for you

I believe in the importance of setting concrete goals when starting therapy so we can have some time of way to measure and track progress, just like going to the gym.

During the first session, we would introduce ourselves and get a feel if we would be a good match; I would explain my approach/style, and we could determine if we should move forward.
