My name is Pauline McNabney-Gomez, LCSW. I believe in creating partnerships with my clients to provide effective treatment. I think everyone has the capacity for change and the opportunity to do so but sometimes requires assistance. As humans, we overlook our strengths and only focus on our weaknesses.
My approach
I use a variety of approaches with creating partnerships for change including Solution Focused and Reality Based. I don't believe one therapeutic approach is suited for everyone and sometimes people require a variety of approaches depending on the space one is in.
My focus
I have worked with various populations, including young children to adults and trauma survivors to end-of-life stages. Partnering with a therapist provides the opportunity to share the burden and learn ways to cope while creating solutions.
My communication style
I support my clients in a variety of ways including active and reflective listening and holding emotional space. I also challenge people to think outside of the box while holding themselves accountable.
My goals for you
Creating goals requires a partnership between the provider and the client, the client being the driver of the treatment with support from the provider on how to achieve them. The goals are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely. Goals change much like people as we progress.
