Hi there, I'm Lisa!

Hi, I'm Lisa Altemus, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology/Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University.

My approach

I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client and family. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual at their own pace to help them build on their strengths and attain personal growth.

My focus

I provide individual, family, couples, and group therapy. My areas of specialization include Depression, Anxiety, Adolescents, Stress Management, Substance Abuse, ADHD, LGBTQ, Family, and Parenting Issues.

My communication style

I strive to help clients achieve their goals and provide quality therapeutic services. I work with people to improve their relationships and communication, address occupational concerns, transitions in life, and help parents and teens struggling to communicate.

My goals for you

My goal is to help you build on your strengths, attain personal growth, improve your relationships and communication, navigate life transitions, and achieve the objectives that are most important to you through our work together.

My first session with you

In our first session, we'll discuss what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. I'll learn more about your background, current situation, and any challenges you're facing. Together we'll begin to develop a plan tailored to your specific needs and goals. You can expect me to listen with empathy, provide a safe space to share, and offer guidance to start you on your journey of growth and positive change.
