My communication style

My intention is to help you discover and retrieve parts of yourself that enable greater happiness, freedom, confidence, intimacy, or safety. These parts were originally forbidden, abandoned, or never allowed to be born. Our work together is to identify and remove barriers that block growth and change.

My journey to mental healthcare

I became a therapist because I grew up in a multi-problem family and learned at a young age that although I didn't have the answers for my family, I knew I could eventually learn to do better than the elite 'professionals' seem to be doing to help us. I always valued work in which I was directly helping others.

My goals for you

The goals you set will be determined by what you want. My part is to help you identify specifics here and to troubleshoot immediate and long-standing obstacles to their achievement. If you have no specific goals, our work will be to help you find the words for what is hidden deep inside.

Our first session

In our first session, I want to help you feel comfortable, safe, and a bit excited about entering this journey together. I will ask many questions, and I will invite you to ask me questions. A successful beginning ends with a feeling of hope.
