My communication style

I am very open, approachable, and empathic. I am a very good listener. I make every effort to ensure each client feels heard and understood. I tailor therapeutic interventions in a way that clients can hear something differently. The hope is that this helps elicit a better understanding and, where necessary, change.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was drawn to helping others because this work gives my life a sense of purpose and meaning. Each person is uniquely different, and psychotherapy provides the opportunity to learn and grow, as there are constantly new things being revealed. I enjoy getting to know and work with people on a much deeper level and seeing change happen.

My goals for you

I work with each client to understand their wants, needs, and goals and establish a plan for treatment from there. I also take into consideration that it is important to check in and see if things are progressing, and/or if any adjustments are needed, or if new goals are appropriate.

Our first session

The first appointment is the intake, where I gather information and learn about you, what brings you to therapy, and how I can best help you. I will take notes, ask clarifying questions, and discuss what you hope to gain from therapy and what to expect in sessions.
