Greetings! My name is Nicole Perkins, and I am a skilled, professional, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience in assisting individuals and families with a range of emotional, social, and psychological needs. I am deeply passionate about helping others effectively overcome life issues and mental health problems. My formal education comes from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where I earned a Master of Arts in Psychology (MA) as well as a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT). I have served in a variety of roles within the mental health industry ranging from an Assistant Professor of Psychology and a Military and Family Life Counselor to a Remote Telehealth Virtual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, amongst other roles.
My approach
I use an integrative eclectic approach to providing therapy, drawing from a variety of theories, approaches, and techniques, and fusing them together to determine the best combination of therapeutic tools to best fit your needs. Narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive processing therapy (CPT), solution-focused therapy, and person-centered therapy are a few of the interventions and methods I utilize. Furthermore, although my expertise in mental health is comprehensive, I notably specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

I possess the skills and experience to support you whether you are struggling with depression or anxiety, going through a painful divorce, grieving the loss of a loved one, or dealing with dysfunctional relationships. My desire is to support you in discovering your strengths and coming to understand and appreciate the value of your life. I work to provide a welcoming atmosphere where you can feel secure, loved, and cared for, in order to overcome adversity and live a balanced existence. My goal is to improve your life by providing the best caliber of counseling services, while proactively advocating for your overall wellness.
My communication style
As an established therapist, I am well-versed and efficient in working with a wide variety of individuals and facilitating a judgment-free atmosphere to allow true emotional healing to take place. While working with me, my clients can look forward to a calm and soothing environment where difficult thoughts and emotions can be effectively unpacked and addressed. It is my ongoing mission to provide applicable solutions to mental health problems and to lead my clients toward the rewarding, joyful, and fulfilling lives they deserve. Together, we will complete the inner work that needs to be accomplished to alleviate emotional pain or confusion and to help you establish more effective coping mechanisms. Our sessions will allow you to better understand your psychological issues by learning more about how your past has impacted your mental growth. My goal is to give each of my clients the tools necessary to rebuild and foster positive relationships, develop a strong mindset, and overcome adversity in a healthy manner. We will take noticeable and measurable steps toward the future you have envisioned for yourself and your family, and you will develop strategies to stay on a positive path. Witnessing patient growth is, by far, one of the most fulfilling aspects of my career. Furthermore, I enjoy truly getting to know each of my patients as the unique individuals they are and breaking below the surface to show them that I am there to help them on their journey to mental wellness.
