Hi there, I'm Jonathan!

When you're used to showing up for others, it can be hard to make room for yourself. Our sessions offer time to pause, feel heard, and make sense of what you've been carrying. From there, we'll build on strengths you may overlook and explore changes that feel meaningful and manageable for you.

My focus

I work with adults facing anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, substance use concerns, or relationship difficulties. I especially welcome veterans, single parents, and people navigating life changes. Together, we'll make sense of what you're experiencing and explore changes that fit your life.

My approach

We start with your story: how your experiences, relationships, and beliefs shape your life. My approach is narrative-informed and strengths-based. I draw on CBT, ACT, DBT-informed skills, and mindfulness to help you understand patterns and practice different ways of responding.

My communication style

I'm warm, attentive, and encouraging. I help you notice strengths you may already use without recognizing them, while making room for what's difficult. I ask thoughtful questions and offer ideas without assuming I know what's best for you. We'll approach uncomfortable topics gradually and with care.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was drawn to therapy by a desire to hear people's stories and help them feel understood. My work in science and over 12 years in the Army showed me the importance of support, especially under pressure. I'm motivated by helping people recognize their strengths, find new perspectives, and make changes that matter to them.

My goals for you

We begin with what you'd like to understand, heal, or change, even if the direction is still broad. Together, we try small, intentional changes in how you respond to thoughts, feelings, and relationships, guided by your values. We check in on what's helping and adjust as we go.

Our first session

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other. I'll guide the conversation a little more, asking about your history, current concerns, and what you'd like help with. You don't need clear goals or to share difficult experiences in detail right away. There will be room for your questions and time to build trust.
