My name is Sabina Wieczner and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Sacramento, CA. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults on many issues including loss, attachment, anxiety, depression, anger, impulsivity, and low self-esteem. I use mindfulness and CBT in my work.
My approach
I most commonly use Solution-Focused, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Client-Centered, Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Based and techniques from Functional Family Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. The majority of my experience has been with clients having suffered multiple traumas, substance use disorders, grief/loss, depression, unhealthy interpersonal relationships, anxiety, and low self-esteem. My approach focuses on empowerment through skills, relationship building, and self-understanding to regulate emotions and gain a sense of inner strength.
My focus
I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for anyone suffering from anxiety, trauma, PTSD, or depression. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults.
My communication style
My communication style is calm, friendly, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything and committed to providing my clients with a safe, nurturing, and judgment-free zone, where they can freely explore, experiment, and express themselves.
My journey to mental healthcare
I started off doing therapeutic behavioral services for children and adolescents while gaining my hours for licensure. I primarily worked with foster, adoptive, and juvenile youth. I transitioned to functional family therapy and then to adoption-specific therapy, gaining experience in many therapeutic techniques along the way. I've transitioned those therapeutic practices and working with children and adolescents to working with adults.
My goals for you
I view clients as the experts in their own lives and use my knowledge and skills to guide our work together to help define what you want to accomplish in our time together. Building rapport and trust between us is the first step to working together to set goals and track progress.
