My name is Veronica Landeros and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based out of the Imperial Valley in Southern California and work with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adolescents and adults and specialize in anxiety, stress, depression, and relationship/life issues. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy to help my clients meet their goals and to start feeling better.
My approach
My approach to therapy varies with each client I work with, focusing on their particular goals and needs. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. These modalities help us work towards a common goal and know what road we are taking.
My focus
I feel that my style and approach to therapy is a good fit for teens and adults struggling with anxiety, stress, or depression that stem from life transitions, relationship issues, and difficulties with communication. I work to help my clients maneuver through these challenges and help them build skills that will help them improve their mood, perception of themselves, and outlook on life.
My communication style
My communication style is open, accommodating, and personable. I want you to feel comfortable bringing up any topic and not feel judged. I take pride in my ability to be unbiased and create a judgment-free environment in each therapy session.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always wanted to be in a profession where I could help people. Throughout my life, people have mentioned that they have always felt safe and comfortable talking to me. I enjoy being able to help people during their trying times and watching them learn new skills and grow as individuals.
My goals for you
Goal setting will be something we do together in order to outline what we would like to accomplish in our time together. We will discuss expectations of therapy and what that looks like for you. It is important to check in throughout different times in our time together to track and adjust goals as necessary.
My first session with you
The first session with me will feel conversational as I get to know you and get a better understanding of how you've been feeling. It is important to me for us to build rapport and come to an agreement on what the focus of therapy should be. I will ask questions when needed, in order to get a feel for what works best for you. Also during the first session, I will discuss limits of confidentiality and some intake questions, but the goal is for the conversation to be fluid and fit your needs.
