Hi there, I'm Dorothy!
I specialize in helping adults who have suffered from childhood trauma, abuse, and neglect. I teach mindfulness breathing skills, self-regulation, and body resourcing so you can learn how to lower your anxiety. I also use mind/body psychotherapy and teach re-parenting skills to support your healing.
My focus
My style works well for adults who have tried talk therapy with limited success and for those who have difficulty talking about their past. I work with adults who suffer from childhood PTSD and struggle in adulthood with shame, dissociation, and isolation to avoid painful memories and feelings.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is to provide unconditional acceptance of who you are today, and then we work together toward your healing. I use somatic mind/body therapies such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Attachment-Based Relationship Building, and Breathwork to help you connect to your body and remain present in the session.
