I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with dual certification as a family nurse practitioner. I believe that mental health care needs to be personalized so that individuals in need of support feel heard, validated, and are treated with dignity and respect. I am able to diagnose and treat depressive disorders, generalized anxiety disorders, PTSD, insomnia, schizophrenia, ADHD, OCD, mood disorders and utilize psychotropic medication management as part of my treatment regimen when appropriate.
My approach
In addition to mental health medication management, I utilize a combination of therapeutic approaches including: Compassion Focused, Culturally Sensitive and Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) treatments.
My focus
I work with patients between 18 and 70 years of age who need support with depressive disorders, generalized anxiety disorders, PTSD, insomnia, schizophrenia, ADHD, OCD, and mood disorders.
My communication style
I provide an empathetic and safe environment, where patients are heard and feel validated with each encounter. Patients have told me that it's easy to talk with me, they feel safe and supported in a non judgmental way regardless of the issue presented.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting is to address the patient's main concern for the initial visit first and go from there.
My first session with you
To ensure we have a productive first visit, please be sure to fill out your intake form in advance! During our first visit, we will complete a full mental health assessment and evaluation. There will be lots of questions during this visit, especially regarding your medical and mental health history. Once we have completed your evaluation, we can then discuss a treatment plan specific to your needs that will get you on the road to feeling better as soon as possible!
